Three ETSU students who work at Sherrod Library were honored with $500 scholarships at a reception held March 21, 2014.
Amberly Rogers of Chuckey, TN, Shannon Reed of Morristown, TN, and Rachel Taylor of Jonesborough, TN were the recipients of the newly created Student Employee Scholarship Program. Each scholarship is funded by a generous donor.
Students awarded scholarships are recognized at an annual Scholarship Award Celebration. Dean of Libraries Pat Van Zandt commented, “Everyone at Sherrod Library is thrilled that we can offer some financial assistance to our valued student workers. We hope that these three scholarships will be the first of many more to come.”
To be eligible students must be an undergraduate, employed at Sherrod library for at least one semester, and must be currently enrolled with a 3.0 or above GPA.
Rogers, Reed, and Taylor met these criteria, wrote accompanying essays, and received glowing letters of recommendation from their direct supervisors.
Rogers is psychology major.
Reed is double majoring in Biology and Spanish.
Taylor majors in public health.
